Springfield woman urges support for parks levy
To the editor:
On May 2, there are two critical issues coming up on the ballot for Springfield Township residents.
One of them is Issue 10. Issue 10 asks our community to pledge support for our local parks and recreational facilities. Projects like the playground equipment, Spartan Trail walking and cycling path, picnic pavilions, lakefront concerts, etc., would simply not be possible without continued funding.
We are so privileged to have wonderful programs in the Lakefront Boyd Esler [Senior/Community] Center, live outdoor music at the Lakefront gazebo, a beautiful paved trail to ride our bikes and walk our pets and during the holiday season our spirits are illuminated with a wonderful holiday lighting display around the lake. All this in our community.
Voting YES on Issue 10 will provide the present and future funding needed to sustain, maintain and develop our park system. Our beautiful recreational areas and engaging activities are the shining gems of this township, so please vote YES on Issue 10 to keep Springfield Township a great place to live and recreate for many years.
