WEST AKRON — The home of Icey Gulley in West Akron got some TLC April 28 when a crew of volunteers for Rebuilding Together Greater Cuyahoga Valley descended on it for a day of work. The volunteers were from Church of Our Savior in Akron.

Pictured at right bottom are Mike Smith, of Sharon Township, at left, and Larry Jackson, of Akron, who were working on a carpentry project at the house.

Crew captain Chris Meyer, who has been involved with Rebuilding Together for a number of years, is shown at left top as he trims some branches in the yard.

Volunteer John Myers, of Akron, works on repairing a part of the home’s foundation in the photo at left bottom.

Other volunteers are pictured at right top as they work on the home’s landscaping.

Rebuilding Together officials said more than 400 volunteers were expected to fan out throughout the Akron area on the 17th annual Rebuilding Day to address the needs of low-income elderly and disabled residents. For more information on the organization or to refer a residence in need of help, call 330-773-4100 or go to www.rebuildingtogether-sc.org.
