Lowe’s Heroes Day is a community service program in which Lowe’s selects an organization and offers help with projects.
Gary Sutor, the manager of Lowe’s in Fairlawn, sent a team of 15 volunteers to the Science Center to help with exterior renovations. The volunteers worked for three days painting, landscaping and repairing features in the park and the Science Center building exterior. They repaired the ramp on the deck at the exit of the Center, put in two flower beds, painted some of the playground equipment, repaired the lattice on the Giant Slide and removed weeds and thorn bushes from the park.
Workers also painted the building exterior, shown at right.
The Science Center, located at 2080 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, offers activities, classes and exhibits devoted to teaching creation science and intelligent design models on the origin and history of life. For more information, visit www.akronfossils.com.
