FAIRLAWN — The 107 all-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Akron/Fairlawn has broken ground.

Located at 4080 Embassy Parkway, the Residence Inn Akron/Fairlawn will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by Radius Hospitality Development and managed by Radius Hospitality, of Canton. A rendering is shown above.

According to company officials, rates for the Residence Inn will be consistent with the market and will vary depending on length of stay.

“We are extremely excited to invest in this community and create jobs. The Residence Inn absolutely fills a void in this market for an upper scale extended-stay property,” said Rupen Patel, founder of Radius Hospitality Development.

“We have had our eye on this project for years, and it is right in our backyard,” said Scott Yaeger, president of Radius Hospitality. “This is one of five new hotel projects that we will break ground on in the next nine months.”

Construction is anticipated to take 12 months or less.

Residence Inn properties are designed as all-suite hotels that offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites. Designed for stays of five nights or more, each suite has a fully equipped kitchen, complimentary breakfast, grocery delivery service, complimentary Wi-Fi, 24-hour onsite food and beverage market, dry cleaning services and onsite guest laundry room, as well as social gatherings, a business library, swimming pool and exercise room.
