Summit County Board of Revision complaint forms due March 31
SUMMIT COUNTY — Summit County Fiscal Officer John Donofrio reminds taxpayers the deadline to file DTE Form 1 — Complaint Against the Valuation of Real Property is March 31.
The Board of Revision hears complaints relating to the valuation of property. Taxpayers who feel their property values are too high have the opportunity to file a complaint and appeal to the Board for property value reduction.
The complaint form for tax year 2009, which must be signed, dated and notarized, must physically be in the Summit County Fiscal Office in Downtown Akron, 175 S. Main St., Room 302, or at the satellite office at 2525 State Road, Room 153, in Cuyahoga Falls, by the close of business March 31 at 4 p.m. A March 31 U.S. postmark, by state law, is not acceptable.
Property owners may obtain a complaint form by calling 330-926-2559 or visiting www.co.summit.oh.us/fiscaloffice and choosing the Board of Revision icon on the home page. Residents can print a copy of the instructions and complaint form.
Board of Revision members include Donofrio, County Executive Russ Pry, County Clerk of Courts Daniel Horrigan and/or their representatives.
