DOYLESTOWN — Area residents are being invited to support Copley-Fairlawn City Schools through the Golfing for Education event June 11.

Organized by the Fairlawn Area Chamber of Commerce and the Copley-Fairlawn Schools Foundation, the 20th annual event will be held at Chippewa Golf Course, 12147 Shank Road.

The charity event will benefit the foundation’s and chamber’s scholarships, according to event officials.

The foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization that awards classroom grants for educational projects in Copley-Fairlawn City Schools as well as scholarships to graduating high school seniors, according to its website. Since 1992, the foundation has awarded 80 scholarships totaling more than $139,400 and educational grants totaling more than $40,000.

Funds raised at the golf outing will provide direct assistance to Copley-Fairlawn City Schools students to enhance their financial capabilities for continued education upon high school graduation, according to Nanci Noonan, one of the organizers of the event.

The event also will offer an opportunity to win a golf vacation at Peek’n Peak Resort & Spa in New York that includes 18 holes of golf for two people and accommodations, she said.

“We invite the community to come out for a fun day of golf and to support the future seniors of Copley High School,” said Noonan.

Registration for the event will begin at 9:30 a.m., and a shotgun start will tee off at 10:30 a.m. Participants will receive a boxed lunch, and a buffet dinner will follow the golfing that will include a cash bar and awards presentation.

Participants can register individually or as foursomes.

The cost is $125 per person, which includes the boxed lunch, green fees, cart, the buffet dinner and entry into Par 3s, Long Drive and Hole-in-One contests. The deadline to register is June 4.

Organizers also are offering sponsorship opportunities at various levels, including $50 for a Cart sponsorship, $100 for a Hole sponsorship, $1,500 for a Patron sponsorship (with $500 going toward a scholarship) and $2,500 for a Marquis sponsorship (with $1,000 going toward a scholarship).
