Woodridge softball team advances to regional semifinal

SOUTH AKRON — With a win over Walsh Jesuit High School in the Akron Division II District final May 19, Woodridge will play in the Division II regional semifinal today, May 24, at 5 p.m. at Firestone Stadium against Poland Seminary High School.
Woodridge defeated Walsh 8-7 in 12 innings at Firestone Stadium. A bunt by Woodridge’s Heather Schneider led Erica Huntsman to score the game-winning run. Shown at left bottom is Huntsman, at right, and Walsh catcher Lauren Cianciolo after Hunstman slid into home. Hunstman also is at left top at the plate.
