Teams stepped off from Summit Christian Church on South Hawkins Avenue and proceeded to the fields at Perkins Middle School for an awards ceremony and championship games. The parade was led by fire trucks and members of the Firestone High School Marching Band, who are shown at right top.

Organizers also said 16 Akron Police Department officers volunteered their time to help with the parade.

Members of the T-ball league’s Cubs are pictured at right middle as they enjoy their parade experience.

Softball team the Copley Crushers participated in the event while riding in a pickup truck, as shown at right bottom.

The G League Reds, shown at left top, and F League Pirates, shown at left middle, also took part.

The F League Reds, who faced the Pirates in the championship, are pictured at left bottom.

WABL, founded in 1957, organizes teams in boys baseball, girls softball and co-ed T-ball for West Akron youths ages 5-18. For more information on this year’s season, go to www.wabl.org.
