Strong defense leads Buchtel to win over Firestone

DOWNTOWN AKRON — Buchtel High School’s strong defense held Firestone High School to a scoreless game Sept. 14 at The University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium.

Buchtel defeated City Series rival Firestone 12-0.

Buchtel quarterback Chris Davis rushed for 66 yards on 14 carries and completed 9-of-17 passes for 76 yards. Davis (No. 8) is shown at right bottom, at center, as he is pursued by Firestone players.

Firestone next will take on Kenmore High School tomorrow, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at Ellet High School. Buchtel will play Garfield High School Sept. 22 at noon at Kenmore High School.
