Strong shooting leads STVM to win over Firestone

WEST AKRON — St. Vincent-St. Mary (STVM) High School junior Jalen Hudson led the visiting Irish boys basketball team to a win over Firestone High School Jan. 4.

Hudson scored 22 points for the Irish, who won 69-54. Hudson (No. 3) is shown at right bottom in the air after shooting a basket.

STVM’s Nick Wells (No. 21) is shown at right top, at left, fighting for a rebound with Firestone’s Kevin Gladney (No. 1). Wells finished with 10 points and 15 rebounds. Gladney ended the game with 15 points and six rebounds.

The top scorer for the Falcons was senior Jerome Lane, with 21 points. Lane (No. 35), is shown at left top at center in the air after taking a shot.

Shown at left bottom is Firestone’s Lewis Raybon (No. 42), at left, looking to score on a short jump shot but is met by STVM’s Joey Weber (No. 20).
