DOWNTOWN AKRON — The St. Vincent-St. Mary (STVM) High School boys basketball team defeated Buchtel High School at home 59-42 Feb. 2.

STVM’s Jalen Hudson led the Fighting Irish with 16 points. Hudson (No. 3) is shown at left top, at center, as he dunks the ball.

Shown at left bottom, at left, is STVM’s Nick Wells (No. 21) as he lays the ball up past Buchtel’s Sable Cooper (No. 3). Wells ended the game with 11 points.

Buchtel’s Lemontre’ Smith (No. 12) is shown at right bottom shooting over STVM’s Fransohn Bickley (No. 4). Smith ended the game with six points.

Buchtel’s Demonte Hicks (No. 23) is shown at right top, at left, driving in the ball against STVM’s Wells. Hicks and Tyler Jones led the Griffins with 10 points each.
