Highland defeats Copley with strong shooting

GRANGER — Highland High School’s girls basketball team defeated Copley High School 44-28 Jan. 11 at home.

Highland’s Marlee Profitt (No. 14) was the top scorer for the Lady Hornets with 13 points. She is shown at right top, at left, attempting a jump shot over Copley’s Katie Cox (No. 14).

Shown at right top middle is Highland’s AnnaRose Wiencek (No. 22), at left, bringing the ball up court past Copley’s Kiley Blachaniec (No. 20). Wiencek finished the game with six points, while Blachaniec scored nine points.

Shown at right bottom middle is Copley’s Kaela Drake (No. 40) taking a jump shot. She scored two points for the Lady Indians, along with fellow Lady Indian Myriah Hoffman.

Shown at right bottom is Hoffman (No. 52), at right, moving toward the basket being guarded by Highland’s Profitt (No. 14).

Both teams next will play Jan. 18 at 2:30 p.m. Copley will play Nordonia High School at Nordonia. Highland will play Green High School at home.
