“We were so touched by everyone who wanted to donate a wreath to the event,” said. “They had big hearts and creative hands.”
Four of those wreaths are pictured here.
The decorated and themed wreaths, hung along the glass bridge linking the original building to the Ledges, a rehabilitation facility open to the general public, created a festive atmosphere for all. Shown at left bottom is the hallway adorned with the wreaths.
The event, open to the public, allowed individuals an opportunity to purchase the wreaths for their own homes and raised more than $2,400, according to Schumacher.
“The event was spectacular,” she said. “We sold all but five wreaths, which were marked down to half price, and three of those sold the next day. The rest will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.”
Wreath Fest also served up champagne, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and musical entertainment with Kim Danes and Guytano Parks on a baby grand piano, as well as a jazz duo in the lobby, including Tom Lempner on saxophone and Adam Sarata on classical guitar.
“We will definitely be doing this again next year,” said Schumacher.
