WEST AKRON —Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens will introduce its new Garden Shop at Molly’s and its Home Grown series of plants at its annual Plant Sale May 19 beginning at 10 a.m.

The Garden Shop will offer plant and garden accessories throughout the season Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A new addition to Molly’s Garden Shop features trellises, arbors, accessories and decorative pots for the garden. Admission to Stan Hywet is not required to shop or dine at Molly’s Shop & Café, including the outdoor Garden Shop.

The Home Grown series will feature plants in colorful patio containers, baskets of succulents and annuals and tropicals designed and created by Stan Hywet’s team of horticulture professionals. Avid gardeners also will find an array of perennials grown from cuttings from the historic Great Garden, allowing them to “take home a piece of Stan Hywet” for their own flower beds, according to Stan Hywet officials.

“The home gardener has many choices when it comes to buying plants and accessories,” said Tom Hrivnak, director of Horticulture at Stan Hywet. “Gardeners who purchase from Stan Hywet get the healthiest plants and the most interesting garden items while also supporting this historic estate. It’s a win-win.”

Stan Hywet is located at 714 N. Portage Path. The site is open to the public Tuesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The last admission is at 4:30 p.m.

Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, the nation’s sixth largest historic home open to the public, is accredited by the American Association of Museums, according to Stan Hywet officials. For more details, visit www.stanhywet.org or call 330-836-5533.
