What makes you the better candidate?
“Having spent 30 years in the private sector, creating jobs and signing the front of a paycheck and not just the back, I understand the impact of the decisions made in Washington on small business owners and families. My record of bipartisanship confronting the challenges our country faces by working together to create jobs, cutting red tape and burdensome regulations that strangle the economy needs to continue if we are going to get our country back on track. As the Mayor of Wadsworth, I balanced the budget without raising taxes. This can be replicated in the Congress if we have the will to worry about the next generation and not just the next election. Washington is broken, and sending a career politician back to Washington will not solve the problem.”

What makes you the better candidate?
“My focus in Congress has, and will continue to be working to strengthen our middle-class by revitalizing our manufacturing sector and providing better economic opportunities for working Ohioans. I have fought against unfair trade practices and for better investments in American infrastructure and job training. I will work to protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare, while keeping our promises made to America’s veterans. I will also continue my work to clean up Washington through ethics reforms and a renewed effort to overturn the harmful Citizens United ruling.”
Editor’s note: We have listed both candidates as incumbents due to redistricting. Jim Renacci is the current District 16 representative and Betty Sutton is the current District 13 representative. With redistricting, the newly drawn District 16 will include parts of Renacci and Sutton’s current districts.
