DOWNTOWN AKRON — On Dec. 3, sixth-grade students in the piano department at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts performed in the lobby at Akron Children’s Hospital, and also presented hospital officials with the 96 toys they collected for distribution to sick children who will be hospitalized over the holidays.

“Our goal was to collect at least 88 toys to represent the 88 keys on a standard piano,” said Miller South piano teacher Gwen Hayes. “I am very proud of them for exceeding their goal and also for their generosity.”
