DOWNTOWN AKRON — Child Guidance & Family Solutions (CG&FS) will relocate its central office to its new location at 18 N. Forge St., a move that will expand the organization’s behavioral health services and position CG&FS with other medical service providers within the city’s growing health care corridor, according to agency officials.

The current CG&FS Central Office at 312 Locust St. will close permanently March 14, and the new location will open March 18. For more information, including directions to the new location, visit www.cgfs.org.

The new 25,000-square-foot, $5.25 million facility, shown at above, is on Market Square at the corner of East Market and Forge streets. It is intended to provide a better client experience with space for family therapy, improved waiting areas and expanded parking.

“Our commitment to the children and families of the community has never been stronger, and we have worked diligently to position the agency for the future,” President Elaine Harlin said. “This move will strengthen our standing as the leading provider of behavioral health care in Summit County by increasing our visibility in the community, building awareness of the services we provide and improving the environment in which we serve our clients.”

She explained that in the first year alone, the new facility will expand client services by 20 percent more clients and 53 percent more service units than at the Locust Street office. In addition, its Biomedical Corridor location will allow CG&FS to connect more closely with other medical services like pediatricians and family practices, she noted.
