CUYAHOGA FALLS — More than 150 people braved a snowstorm to attend WITAN’s W.O.W. Imagine Ball Feb. 2 at the Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls.

Beth Fink, shown at left, chaired the event, which celebrated the 70th anniversary of WITAN.

According to event officials, the ball raised more than $44,000 for the WITAN Community Projects Fund, and $22,000 for the WITAN Endowment Fund at Akron Community Foundation. Since its founding in 1943, WITAN, which stands for Women In Touch With Akron’s Needs, has raised and granted more than $2 million to area agencies, and WITAN’s members have performed more than 3 million hours of volunteer service, according to event officials.

Guests enjoyed dining, dancing and a silent auction with a variety of items, according to event officials. Shown at right, from left, are Jim and Diana Snider, and Steve Shechter.
