According to Graf’s officials, workshop participants can create fairy gardens in a terra cotta pot or in a portion of a garden. These gardens use perennials and miniature shrubs outdoors or houseplants in pots or terrariums indoors.
Graf Growers will present its traditional Fairy Gardening Workshop for beginners Sept. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. This workshop will focus on creating a miniature garden for inside or outside the home with tiny plants, trinkets and more. Attendees can bring a container from home or purchase one at Graf Growers. Potting soil will be provided.
On Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m., an Advanced Fairy Gardening Workshop will be led by Lisa Graf and Graf Growers’ creative staff that will teach the layering technique and how to add lighting and accessories, as well as fairy garden design, color, repetition, texture and more, according to Graf’s officials. The workshop lasts approximately two hours.
This workshop is open to teens and adults. The class fee is the cost of a 10-inch pot ($25 plus plants and accessories) or a 12-inch pot ($35 plus plants and accessories). The cost includes soil, moss and stone accessories to build layers.
To register for either workshop, call Graf Growers at 330-836-2727 or visit the garden center.
