Summer Dance Adventure Camp for children ages 5-11 will take place June 23-26 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 727 Canton Road. Children will enjoy rhythm activities, music, dance and tumbling as well as crafts and games. Summer dance classes are also slated for children ages 3-11 July 7-16 on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

The Illusion Factory theater troupe is offering camps July 21-Aug. 1 at the Northwest Family Recreation Center, 1730 Shatto Ave. in West Akron. Camp will take place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for ages 5-7 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for ages 8 and older. The two-week camp is $110 for the younger group and $250 for the older group, which also includes a T-shirt, script and supplies.

Magical Theatre Company offers two camps this summer. K.I.D. Camp helps children develop performing skills through age-appropriate classes in musical theater. Professional staff will serve as instructors. Camp will be held July 7-18. Campers may also take part in Acting Out(side) in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park June 15-20. The camp is based at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center, 3670 Oak Hill Road in Peninsula. Campers will develop their performing arts skills and utilize the outdoors as a stage.

Adventures in Art Summer Art Camps will take place at Peninsula Art Academy, 1600 W. Mill St. Sessions will focus on arts such as drawing, painting and more. Camps also will include nature walks.

Weathervane Playhouse, 1301 Weathervane Lane in Merriman Valley, will host a variety of camps and workshops from June 10 to Aug. 9 for ages 3-16. Camps include Jedi Training Camp, Kids Take the Stage, Musical Theater, Broadway Dance Camp, Character Workshop, Audition Workshop and more.
