AKRON ROTARY CAMP FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

One-week overnight camping sessions and weekly day camps are held at 4460 Rex Lake Drive in New Franklin from June through August. The camp is for children ages 6 to adulthood with physical, educational and/or developmental disabilities. The cost is $575 per week for overnight camp and $290 for day camp. Financial assistance is available. Open houses take place April 12 and 26 and May 10 from 2 to 4 p.m.

SUM FUN DAY CAMP

Catholic Charities will operate eight weeks of day camp for children ages 6-21 with special needs who receive services through the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Camp counselors are adults trained to meet the needs of youths with developmental disabilities. Campers will participate in traditional camp activities such as swimming, sports, music and crafts with two locations available. Financial assistance is available.
