AKRON — Accenture has partnered with the International Soap Box Derby (ISBD) as the presenting sponsor of the Corporate Derby Challenge (CDC) June 23-24. The CDC event includes teams of corporate and organization employees collaborating to design, assemble, decorate and compete in races in adult gravity-powered Soap Box Derby cars, using a basic car chassis provided by the Soap Box Derby organization.
An unveiling reception of the cars will take place June 23 at Derby Downs, with awards to honor the best designed, constructed and decorated cars. On June 24, the CDC teams will race for trophies and bragging rights.

“Accenture is pleased to continue our sponsorship of the All-American Soap Box Derby to benefit our youth as they grow their curiosity, skills and knowledge across the STEM [science, technology, engineering and math] curriculum,” said Kevin Fenton, managing director of Accenture. “We look forward to a little competition with our fellow sponsors in the Corporate Derby
Challenge.”
“We are excited to bring our corporate partners back together for a day of networking, tailgating and racing,” said Mark Gerberich, ISBD president and CEO. “This fundraising event really helps deliver the mission in supporting youth development in racing and education.”
