FAIRLAWN — Construction of Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center’s new orthopaedic and reconstructive/plastic surgery hospital at 3557 Embassy Parkway is now underway, with completion estimated for this fall. The 165,000-square-foot, three-story, state-of-the-art hospital — designed by Hamel, Green & Abrahamson and IKM, with Turner Construction serving as construction manager — will offer the latest advancements in patient care and technology, according to clinic officials. A rendering of the hospital is shown above.
The hospital will have 12 operating rooms and 60 private patient rooms, large windows for natural light, a calming and relaxing patient environment and a corridor lined with built-in benches to encourage patients to get up and walk after surgery, noted clinic officials. Other patient and visitor amenities will include an outdoor lounge, dining spaces and green spaces.
The new hospital will replace Crystal Clinic’s current site near Downtown Akron.
“Our new hospital will transform patient care by combining the skilled hands of our specialty-trained and experienced surgeons and the latest, advanced technologies in a comfortable, modern facility,” said Holli Cholley, chief nursing and operations officer.
