COVENTRY: On Nov. 15, a witness reported a person in a white vehicle opened mailboxes in the 700 block of Killian Road.
An employee of a South Arlington Road business reported Nov. 15 someone kicked in the door and entered the business, which is closed for the season, damaged a safe in a failed attempt to open it and stole tools from the garage. Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies agreed to provide additional patrol in the area.
On Nov. 16, deputies investigated the theft of catalytic converters from two vehicles outside a Manchester Road business the previous night.
Deputies attempted to contact a Canton man Nov. 17 after a Canova Drive woman reported he has been sending her unwanted and harassing messages via social media and her attempt to block him was unsuccessful.
A Canova Drive woman reported Nov. 17 her boyfriend’s mother, who lives at the same address, hit her with an umbrella and threw objects at her. The boyfriend’s mother denied the allegation. The caller signed a form refusing prosecution and the two were advised to separate for the night.
Also on Nov. 17, deputies were called to a Portage Point Boulevard residence where a man stated his daughter was trespassing. She was arrested on several warrants and taken to the Summit County Jail. She was advised charges were pending identification of suspected narcotics she had concealed in her clothing.
Neighbors reported they heard a woman screaming at a Loma Drive residence Nov. 17. Deputies arrived to find a Tallmadge woman in her underwear and covered in bruises sitting in mud outside the home. She stated her boyfriend, who lives at the residence, had assaulted her numerous times over the past two days. She said he threw her outside and threw a leaf blower, which struck her thigh and caused a large welt. He left before deputies arrived. They searched for the man and issued a warrant for his arrest after they could not find him. The provided the victim with resources to help her, but she refused transport to a facility, and deputies drove her to her parents’ home.
An Althea Avenue woman reported someone broke into her garage through a side door Nov. 7 between 5:50 and 6:20 p.m. and stole a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
An off-duty Springfield Police Department officer observed a man in the parking lot of a closed North Turkeyfoot Road business Nov. 18 at 4 a.m. and confronted him. That man and another man ran into a wooded area. Deputies responded and found a portable saw, floor jack, hardhat and other items under a company van from which the men were cutting a catalytic converter. An Akron K-9 unit assisted with a search for the men, but they were not found. Deputies reviewed video surveillance and are seeking them on charges of theft after the manager reported an air compressor and generator totaling $2,200 in value were stolen.
A Sheraton Drive woman reported Nov. 18 a woman driving a black SUV stopped in front of her house and took photos of her property, cars and children in the front yard.
Deputies were called Nov. 18 by a Canal Fulton man who reported his child was picked up from school by a Killian Road man, who is the child’s mother’s boyfriend and is not authorized to do so. Deputies located the man and child in a vehicle on South Arlington Road and asked the man if he had any weapons in the vehicle. He said there could be a gun and gave permission for a search of the vehicle, which yielded a handgun and ammunition in the glove box. Five drug pipes, two grinders, brass knuckles, a fixed-blade knife and several bags of marijuana were recovered during a tow inventory. The Killian Road man was charged with carrying concealed weapons, improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle, child endangering and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and taken to the Summit County Jail. The child was released to his father and the incident was reported to Summit County Children Services.
A Portage Lakes Drive woman reported Nov. 19 someone accessed her bank accounts and moved money from her savings account to her checking account, which was fraudulently used to book a reservation at a house in California.

GREEN: An employee of an Arlington Ridge Road business reported Nov. 15 the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle while he worked.
Also on Nov. 15, Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a suspicious man in a Kreighbaum Road park and advised a Sara Drive man, who was shooting arrows at a target, that it is unlawful to shoot a bow and arrow in a park.
A man reported the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle while he was at a Town Park Boulevard business Nov. 16.
A Royal County Down Drive woman reported Nov. 16 someone entered her locked garage, stole a credit card from her vehicle and used it at two gas stations in Akron. A neighbor reported on the same date someone entered her open garage and stole a wallet from her vehicle.
Deputies were called to a Glen Eagles Boulevard apartment Nov. 16 by three roommates over an argument involving a kitten they rescued. Deputies advised them it is a civil matter and provided information regarding boundaries with cohabitation. Deputies were called back later by one roommate, who said another, who is moving out, inappropriately entered the apartment to retrieve his belongings.
A Mayfair Road couple reported Nov. 16 they were alerted that someone was attempting to use their debit cards and discovered the cards had been stolen from their vehicle the previous night.
On Nov. 17, deputies investigated a report that a South Main Street man’s vehicle license plate was stolen following a crash near Sandusky and is being used by someone who is incurring traffic fines in the victim’s name.
A South Main Street woman reported Nov. 17 someone sprayed her vehicle with a white, drywall substance.
A West Comet Road man reported his ex-wife refused to leave his property Nov. 17. Deputies had arrested her for trespassing in the past and had warned her not to return. The Barberton woman was found hiding in the backyard, charged with trespassing and advised not to return.
A Brookview Court man reported Nov. 17 someone accessed his bank account and used it to pay $4,900 for two computers delivered to an address in Toronto, Ohio.
A high school student was charged with menacing Nov. 18 after reportedly making a statement that a teacher should be shot.
Loss prevention agents at a Corporate Woods Parkway store reported Nov. 18 a customer passed two counterfeit $50 bills.
Deputies responded to a report that someone appeared to have passed out in a vehicle in a South Main Street parking lot Nov. 19. Deputies spoke to the woman, who was not intoxicated and stated she was upset over a personal situation and waiting for someone to pick her up.
Also on Nov. 19, deputies were called to a verbal dispute involving a man and woman at an Arlington Ridge Road hotel. A man was arrested on a felony warrant and released to the Akron Police Department.
Following a traffic stop on Interstate 77 Nov. 19, deputies arrested a Sherman Street woman for driving under suspension and having fictitious license plates and charged her with possession of drug abuse instruments and two counts of drug possession after a tow inventory of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, heroin and hypodermic needles.
A juvenile who left her bag in a classroom of a Shriver Road school Nov. 19 was charged with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after school officials found the items in the bag.
Deputies investigated the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle outside a Town Crossing Boulevard business Nov. 19.
Employees called deputies to an Arlington Ridge Road hotel Nov. 19 stating two occupants refused to leave a room. Deputies gained access to the room after no one responded and found it empty. They notified the Barberton Police Department that a woman who had been in the room was one who had been reported missing from their community.
A Cottage Grove Road woman reported Nov. 19 someone opened the front door of her home but nothing was missing or damaged.

LAKEMORE: A Pomatan Avenue man was arrested Nov. 29 for trespassing on a Canton Road store’s property.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a Sanitarium Road home Nov. 30. A Canton woman reported being punched by her boyfriend’s mother while at her home. No charges were filed at the time.
Employees at a Canton Road store reported that two men and a woman were seen taking items from the store Dec. 2. They left before police arrived.
A Mount View Avenue man called police Dec. 2 regarding a withdrawal of $7,447 from his checking account in 51 separate incidents between Aug. 13 and Nov. 5. The victim told police his bank was resolving the matter and he wanted a police report to document the incident.
Police responded to an alleged theft at a Canton Road store Dec. 4. An Akron woman was turned over to the Norton Police Department on an outstanding warrant.
An Akron man stopped at Pawnee Boulevard and Sanitarium Road for multiple equipment violations Dec. 5 was turned over to the Uniontown Police Department on a warrant. Police gave the man a verbal warning for the equipment violations.
Also Dec. 5, an Akron woman was arrested for possession of drugs, drug abuse instruments and having an open container of alcohol in a moving vehicle following a traffic stop on Chelsea Drive. Officers had stopped the driver for expired plates and improper license plate display and gave him a verbal warning. When the car was searched, officers found the contraband and determined the items belonged to a woman passenger.

NEW FRANKLIN: Police responded to a domestic incident at a West Turkeyfoot Lake Road home Nov. 20. A woman reportedly involved in the disturbance said her husband left prior to police arriving. The woman said she got into a verbal dispute with her husband that turned physical and he pushed her into a closet. She also said the couple’s son was injured by a door jamb that broke when the man slammed the door upon leaving. Police found no visible injuries on the woman or her son, and the woman declined charges of domestic violence against the man, and no arrests were made. The couple agreed to remain separated for the night.
Police responded to the area of Manchester Road and Vanderhoof Road Nov. 26 for a report of two loose dogs. An officer saw the dogs on properties on both Vanderhoof and Manchester Road. A resident was reportedly able to catch the dogs and drop them off at the police station. Police later contacted the owner of the dogs and cited her for having dogs at large.
Police also were called to a Swigart Road area Dec. 5 for a loose dog, found the dog walking and returned it to its home. The dog owner was not home at the time and police were unable to reach her by phone. She was later charged for having an animal at large and given a warning for a felony warrant out of the Barberton Police Department after that agency declined to pick her up on the warrant.

SPRINGFIELD: On Nov. 28, police issued warrants on two counts of domestic violence against a man who reportedly grabbed another man by the throat, pulled a knife and threatened to kill the man during an altercation at a Delaware Avenue home. The victim told police he was trying to break up a fight between the suspect and another person when the incident occurred. The other victim suffered a cut on the hand. The suspect was taken to the hospital on unrelated health issues prior to the warrants being issued.
Police and EMS responded to a suspected overdose at a Killian Road home Nov. 29. The caller said the victim was found unresponsive in a bathroom. EMS performed CPR and administered Narcan to the victim, who was taken to a hospital after being revived.
A Krumroy Road resident reported a car was stolen from her driveway sometime between Nov. 29 and Nov. 30. The caller said the car has front suspension damage and flat tires and she believes it was towed from the driveway. The car was recorded as stolen.
Police were called to a South Arlington Road hotel Nov. 30 for a disturbance in the lobby. An Uber driver reported that a woman he picked up and drove to the hotel was refusing to pay for the ride. Police determined that Uber had canceled the ride, but the driver still drove the woman to the hotel. The driver also accused the woman of asking for sex when they arrived at the hotel. Due to lack of evidence, police took no further action.
The owner of a business on South Arlington Road reported copper wire was stolen from his property and power boxes vandalized Nov. 30. Police were shown photographic evidence of the vandalism and thefts, with the total loss estimated at $15,666.
Police are investigating an online scam reported Nov. 30. A woman said her son sent the caller a total of $3,400 through the Cash App mobile application between Sept. 3 and Nov. 28. The prosecutor is considering possible criminal charges.
An Akron man was arrested Dec. 1 after police received a 911 call that the man was seen hitting a woman in the head near Seneca and Mingo trails. When officers arrived, the woman was reportedly found lying in the middle of Seneca Trail crying and the man had blood on his clothing and his right hand. The woman declined medical attention and was taken to her home on Mingo Trail. She said she and the man began arguing while visiting friends on Seneca Trail and the man cut his hand on a handheld mirror during the argument. She said the man, who is the father of her two children, also hit her several times while walking home. She agreed to press domestic violence charges against him and requested a protection order. EMS treated the man’s hand injury and he was later taken to the Summit County Jail on domestic violence charges.
Also on Dec. 1, a delivery driver reported being bitten on the leg by a dog while making a delivery at a South Arlington Road home. The driver said he opened the door and two dogs ran outside, circled him and one of them bit him. The dog owner reportedly provided police current vaccination records for the dog. The police report did not indicate if charges were filed against the dog owner.
Police responded to Bruce Drive Dec. 2 after an unknown man and woman were reportedly seen in the area. Police located the woman, who had blood on her hand, and she said the man was her boyfriend and had hit her and tried to stab her during an argument. She provided conflicting accounts of where the incident took place. Police determined the car she was in had been reported stolen out of Akron but were unable to charge either the woman or man without the vehicle being processed for DNA. The car was towed from the scene.
Police were called to a burglary at a Celia Avenue home Dec. 2. Officers questioned three people there and took one to the Summit County Jail on a warrant. Drug paraphernalia also was found, but ownership could not be determined. The homeowner reportedly told police that one of the men being detained had been living at the residence. Police took no action related to the alleged burglary, but the man was told not to return to the property or he would be charged with criminal trespassing.
