COVENTRY: Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Nancy Avenue woman for theft of merchandise from a Manchester Road store Nov. 16 and also charged her with possession of drug paraphernalia found in her purse.
A Greer Road man reported Nov. 16 he sold a generator to two men who were not satisfied with it and came to his home. He stated one of them threatened to burn down his house. Deputies attempted to contact the suspect.
On Nov. 17, deputies were called to an apartment on Portage Lakes Drive by a woman who reported someone was harassing her. She refused to provide the name of the person to deputies.
A Wadsworth Road man reported Nov. 18 his car was parked on Jarvis Road when a resident’s dogs ran from the property and chased a cat that jumped on his car, scratching the paint. The dog owner agreed to make restitution, and the man declined charges.
Deputies were called to a custody dispute at a Robinson Avenue residence Nov. 18 after a woman reported a foster mother refused to allow her to come in for her court-appointed visitation with her child because her own child was under quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19 at school. Deputies advised that the dispute should be resolved in court.
The owner of rental property on South Arlington Road reported Nov. 19 he gave a tenant two weeks to move out, but he has not vacated the property by the specified time. Deputies determined the tenant is in the process of moving but has not finished, and they provided the property owner with information about the eviction process.
Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a vacant Linda Street house Nov. 19 after neighbors reported seeing flashlights that were possibly coming from inside the house. Deputies found no one had gained entry and there was no sign of attempted entry.
A Fruit Drive man who was building a fence for a neighbor Nov. 19 reported another neighbor threatened him during an argument about property lines. The neighbor denied making threats, and the man building the fence agreed to stop until the landowner had the property surveyed.

GREEN: On Nov. 16, Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies requested that workers from the city’s road department install stop signs at the intersection of Boettler and South Arlington roads after a traffic light was disabled by a wind storm.
Deputies searched an area on Interstate Parkway Nov. 16 but were unable to locate two people who used two counterfeit $50 bills to pay their tab at a restaurant and receive change.
A Dallas Avenue man who had been warned not to be on a Pickle Road property was arrested for criminal trespassing and taken to the Summit County Jail Nov. 16 after deputies found him sitting in a pickup truck in the driveway.
A Raber Road woman reported Nov. 17 her neighbor walked into her house and attempted to go to the basement to find a person who does not live there. She convinced him to leave, and deputies found him on the front porch. He was examined by EMS and transported to a hospital for an evaluation.
Two residents of a Mayfair Road residential complex were advised to have no contact with each other Nov. 17 after one woman reported the other woman threw food outside her door, which she denied it. Due to conflicting information, no charges were filed.
A Honeymoon Drive woman reported Nov. 18 her adult son, who is not permitted to be at the residence, was attempting to gain entry. Deputies transported the man to his South Turkeyfoot Road home.
Also on Nov. 18, deputies investigated the burglary of a vacant house on South Main Street after the owner reported someone threw a brick through a window, opened the door and entered. It was unclear whether anything was stolen.
A Glasford Circle man reported Nov. 18 a gray Nissan passed his house and someone in the car egged a vehicle outside his residence.
A Ravenna man who fled from an Arlington Ridge Road restaurant without paying his tab Nov. 18 was located in a nearby store and charged with theft. He was wanted on several warrants, but the Summit County Jail was unable to admit him and he was released. Deputies found a laptop computer in the area where he fled and placed it into evidence when the man was unable to prove ownership.
Firefighters and deputies responded to a fire in a wooded area behind a Berna Drive residence Nov. 19. A resident stated he had a small controlled fire in the backyard, went inside to get something and returned to find the woods on fire. Coventry and Uniontown firefighters assisted and the blaze was extinguished with no damage to surrounding structures.
A Cottage Grove Road man reported Nov. 19 a friend who has been living with him bit his arm during an argument and hit him on the head with a miniature baseball bat. Deputies observed a bite mark on the arm of the victim, who signed charges. Deputies arrested the woman for domestic violence and took her to the Summit County Jail.

LAKEMORE: A Cleveland man called local police Nov. 18 to report his cousin’s stolen motorbike was being sold by a Dover Drive man. Police are investigating.
A 22-caliber starter pistol and a commercial service panic button found Nov. 22 near a Plaza Court trailer park were turned over to police. Police contacted the service and were told the button was lost over one year ago and more information would be provided the following week.
Police determined a Killian Road woman stopped for a traffic violation Nov. 22 had multiple warrants outstanding. She was turned over to Medina County Sheriff’s Office deputies on one of them.

NEW FRANKLIN: During a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to use a turn signal Nov. 14, police noticed the driver had an odor of alcohol about him and bloodshot eyes. The Northcrest Drive man failed a field sobriety test, had a BAC of 0.175 and was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and driven home.
A Kepler Road couple reported Nov. 16 a 2017 Yamaha side-by-side all-terrain vehicle (ATV) was stolen from a barn. The owners stated the keys were left in the ignition. Police advised the couple to look into adding security measures at the barn.
Police were called about a possible drunken driver near Manchester and Center roads Nov. 16 at 4 p.m. They located the vehicle and saw it “sway within its lane.” Police spoke to the driver when the vehicle stopped and noticed an odor of alcohol. The Canal Fulton man failed a field sobriety test and refused a BAC test. Police learned he was driving under an expired license, has a prior conviction for operating a vehicle under the influence and was charged once again with that offense, as well as with crossing marked lanes and refusing a BAC test. His license was placed under suspension and the man was driven home.
A Rex Lake Road woman reported someone used her identity to open four credit card accounts Nov. 17. Police are investigating.
During a traffic stop for crossing marked lanes Nov. 18, a Selden Avenue man was found to be driving under several suspensions and was charged with that offense again.
A Sturgeon Drive woman reported Nov. 18 someone took a package from her front porch containing a carpet cleaning solution.
Police are investigating the death of a Center Road man in his 60s whose body was found Nov. 19 at about 11 p.m. A friend of the man told police he last spoke with him at about 4:45 p.m. and they were supposed to go out to dinner, but the man canceled because he was “feeling weak,” according to the police report. Another friend confirmed he dropped off groceries at about 5 p.m. Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office personnel arrived to take possession of the body.
A Grove Road man reported Nov. 19 someone used his identity to file taxes for 2019.
A Wilcor Avenue man reported Nov. 20 an ATV was stolen from his fenced backyard. He told police the keys were left in the unsecured vehicle.
During a traffic stop for a loud exhaust, a Herberich Avenue man was found to be driving under a license suspension. The man was charged with providing false information for giving police another name initially and for having a loud exhaust.
A Kruger Avenue woman was charged with having a dog at large after her dog, which was running loose, bit a jogger on the back of her leg and buttocks, leaving puncture wounds.
On Nov. 23, a Regay Drive man was stopped for questioning after crossing marked lanes. Police discovered he was driving under a license suspension and noticed an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle. The man admitted there also was a jar of marijuana in the glove box, and the marijuana was seized. He was charged with having an open bottle of liquor in a moving vehicle and issued traffic citations for the other infractions.
A Manchester Road man reported Nov. 23 someone used his Social Security number to apply for unemployment benefits.

SPRINGFIELD: The following individuals were charged with theft after allegedly stealing items from a South Arlington Road store Nov. 16-18: a Bellows Street man who reportedly removed security packing from a $249 speaker, hid it in his pants and left without making payment, but who was arrested nearby and also charged with criminal trespass; and a homeless woman who reportedly concealed $166 in items in her handbag and on her person.
Numerous items were reported stolen from a recreational vehicle on Junior Avenue Nov. 15.
A real estate agent reported Nov. 16 copper pipes and wiring were stolen from a vacant Hillstock Avenue home, resulting in $3,000 worth of damage.
Someone cut through a chain-link fence at a Massillon Road property Nov. 16, causing $500 in damage. Someone from a neighboring business also reported that day the business’ fence was cut and at least one vehicle in its yard was entered and searched.
A Rolling Meadows man reported Nov. 16 someone pried open the door on a detached garage and stole two dirt bikes. Police entered them into a national database of stolen items.
Police responded to a suspected overdose Nov. 16 at an East Waterloo Road site. EMS administered Narcan and the man was revived. The man told police he used fentanyl, which was seen on a desk in his bedroom. The drug was seized and the man was given a summons for a Good Samaritan hearing on the possession of drugs.
Police issued a domestic violence charge warrant for the arrest of a Cuyahoga Falls man after he visited his girlfriend at Onondago Trail Nov. 17. The girlfriend, who is the mother of his child, told police he grabbed her by the hair during an argument, slammed her into a dryer and put her in a choke hold when she fell. She then bit him on the arm and got away to call her father. The man grabbed a knife and fled, but he turned himself in the next day and was charged.
A man reported a man attempted to steal the running boards off his truck while it was parked in a South Arlington Road store parking lot. The man did manage to get one before fleeing.
A nonworking all-terrain vehicle was reported stolen Nov. 19 from a carport on Albrecht Avenue.
During a stop for an active warrant on violating a protection order Nov. 20, a Simcoe Avenue man was found in possession of a hypodermic needle and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
On Nov. 21, a 2010 silver Chrysler 200 was reported stolen from a South Arlington Road gas station while the driver was inside the station. He told police he left it unlocked and with keys in the ignition. Video surveillance showed a man take it. The vehicle was recovered seven hours later at a Canton Road gas station. The man was found with the vehicle and was transported to a hospital by EMS due to an overdose of drugs. The owner was notified.
