STVM Athletic Hall of Fame class honored

DOWNTOWN AKRON — St. Vincent-St. Mary (STVM) High School inducted 12 new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame Jan. 25.
The ceremony took place during halftime of the boys basketball game against Benedictine High School.
According to school officials, the inductees include:
• Aaron Adkins, Class of 2014, football and wrestling;
• Anthony Adkins, Class of 2014, football and wrestling;
• Bob Bertsch, Class of 1967, long-time Booster Club supporter;
• Fransohn Bickley, Class of 2013, football, basketball and track;
• Dante Booker, Class of 2014, football, basketball and baseball;
• Parris Campbell Jr., Class of 2014, football, basketball and track;
• Edward DiFeo, Class of 1981, wrestling and football;
• Leonard Gmerek, Class of 1954, football, basketball, baseball and tennis;
• Gary Johnson, long-time announcer;
• Clayton Uecker, Class of 2013, football;
• Taylor Wedlake, Class of 2011, tennis; and
• Newman Williams, Class of 2014, football and basketball.
