SUMMIT COUNTY — The Summit County Prosecutor’s Office is relaunching the “Arrive Alive” program to help keep drunken drivers off the roads during the Thanksgiving holiday.
This program offers free rides home for Summit County residents from Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. to Nov. 26 at noon through 300 one-time use codes for up to $20 off a LYFT ride. Residents can use the LYFT code SUMMIT1121.
These free and reduced fares rides are for area residents who have had too much to drink and are unable to drive home, officials said.
Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh stated Arrive Alive co-sponsors include the law firms of Perantinides & Nolan; Roetzel & Andress; Kisling, Nestico & Redick; and Bevan & Associates.
“As families gather for Thanksgiving, many for the first time in over a year, I want to do everything I can to keep the roads safe,” said Walsh. “That’s why Arrive Alive is so important. It gives people an alternative to getting behind the wheel impaired.”
Nearly 2,000 people have used the Arrive Alive service since the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office launched Arrive Alive during the July 4 holiday in 2018, according to office officials.
